Jeff and I went for a terrific spring hike along the McClain Creek road leading to the Mormon Ridge trailhead, which eventually leads to the apex of Lolo Peak. The weather was unbelievably pleasant with temperatures in the high 50s when we started. It was so warm that I spied the first blue of the year, a Spring Azure.
We managed a little over five and a half miles of total hiking, and then the problems arose. As we hiked up, the sweat started flowing, so we ditched the jackets, and on our return leg they were nowhere to be found. They had up and disappeared…until a pleasant lady returned them to us at the Lolo Peak Brewery in the evening.
